Frankie Muniz Says He Hit ‘Rock Bottom’ After Six-Week ‘Nightmare’
Two and a half months after his split from Paige Price, the 'Malcolm in the Middle' star posted about his lowest point, what he learned from it and a message for anyone in the same place.

Low point, in his own words. Frankie Muniz opened up on X on Friday, Sept. 18, about what he called a six-week stretch at “rock bottom.”
“The last 6 weeks of my life have been a nightmare I’m praying to wake up from,” the Malcolm in the Middle star, 40, wrote. “Everything felt heavy, unclear, and like it was falling apart at the same time.”
Why did Frankie Muniz post about rock bottom?
He didn’t give a reason. The post doesn’t name an event, a person or a cause, and Muniz hasn’t added details since.
What he did describe was the aftermath. “I’ve had nowhere to hide,” he wrote. “I’ve had time to sit with myself, do real self-reflection.”
That time, he said, showed him “the areas of my life that need work if I want to become a better version of me. Not the polished version I show the world… the actual one.”

He closed with a message to readers going through something similar: “If you’re in a low place right now too, you’re not broken. You’re being rebuilt. Let’s keep going!”
Are Frankie Muniz and Paige Price divorced?
They announced their split on July 1. “After 10 beautiful years together, we’ve grown in ways that made us realize our relationship feels most natural and strong as a deep friendship and as co-parents,” Muniz and Paige Price wrote in a joint Instagram post.
The announcement had a false start. Muniz first posted a video of the two dancing, captioned “Who says you can’t stay best friends with your baby momma?”, then deleted it after a wave of criticism.
Price took his side in the comments. “Frankie, I am so sorry that you felt the need to delete an old fun video of our family because people are so cruel to you,” she wrote. “We’re two adults who know how to be on the same team.”
Neither has said publicly whether a divorce has been filed. The six weeks Muniz describes began in early August, about a month after the announcement.
Who is Paige Price?
Muniz’s estranged wife and the mother of his son. The two met in 2016 at a celebrity golf tournament, and he proposed in November 2018 at the Lantern Fest in Casa Grande, Ariz.
They eloped on Oct. 3, 2019, after hiking Camelback Mountain in Arizona, and threw a wedding celebration on Feb. 21, 2020 — four years to the day after they met. Their son, Mauz, was born in March 2021.
Price has kept a lower public profile than her husband. She appears with him in videos on his YouTube channel, including one titled “We Lost Our House But Gained Our Lives.”
What has Frankie Muniz been doing in 2026?
Two jobs at once. In April, he returned as Malcolm in Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, the Hulu revival that reunited him with Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek nearly two decades after the original ended.
He is also racing full-time. Muniz drives the No. 33 Ford for Team Reaume in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and he added a full season in the SRO GT4 America championship this year.
His first full Truck Series season, in 2025, ended 26th in the standings after a wrist injury kept him out of four races.
