Editorial standards
These are the rules every FameCrumbs story follows. They exist so you can trust what you read here, and so the people we write about are treated fairly.
Sourcing and attribution
- Every claim of fact is attributed or verifiable. A rumor is never presented as fact.
- We credit our sources in plain text. Where a fact rests on another outlet’s reporting, we say so.
- Grave stories — death, illness, crime, lawsuits — rest on a primary source (a court filing, an official statement, the person or their representative) or on two independent outlets, credited by name.
- We use the correct legal stage of a case: alleged, accused, charged, convicted. Accused is not guilty.
Fact, interpretation and opinion
We separate what happened from what we think it means. Our reading — “The take” — is opinion anchored in the facts the story already showed. It never invents a new fact to reach a tidy ending.
Trends and explainers
Part of what we publish starts with what Americans are searching for — a question, a recipe, a look, a rule, a date. Those stories answer the question first, explain how the thing actually works, and are updated on the same page when the facts change or the season comes back around, with the update date shown. We don’t give medical, legal or financial advice.
Images and video
We do not re-host anyone’s full video: we use the official embed plus a single frame, with credit. We prefer photos the person published themselves, official stills, or licensed images. We do not manipulate photos, and we do not amplify private or intimate material.
People, privacy and harm
Covering a public figure’s public life is the job, including crimes, lawsuits and security scares that are already public. We don’t publish exact street addresses, we don’t state someone’s health or sexuality unless they have made it public, and we don’t identify private minors in criminal cases. Reporting a victim’s own account of a crime committed against them is journalism; amplifying the material of that crime is not. Stories touching mental health carry the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Signed work and independence
Every story is reviewed, edited and published under a real name, Bruno Monteiro — which is why attribution and precision are non-negotiable here. FameCrumbs does not sell coverage: nothing is published, changed or removed for payment. How the site is run is on the masthead.
