Is Kelly Clarkson Dating Anyone? What She Said on Las Culturistas
Asked point-blank, the singer said no. Her kids, 12 and 10, and her time come first: "If you're going to be in a relationship, you have to be willing to give some of your time up."

- Kelly Clarkson, 44, is not dating anyone. Asked point-blank on the podcast Las Culturistas, released Sept. 30, she answered “No.”
- She gave two reasons: her kids, River, 12, and Remington, 10, and her time. “If you’re going to be in a relationship, you have to be willing to give some of your time up. And I am unwilling.”
- Her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, ended Aug. 31 after seven years, and she said she is now at her kids’ pickup and drop-off.
Is Kelly Clarkson dating anyone? No. The singer, 44, said so herself on the Sept. 30 episode of the comedy podcast Las Culturistas, when hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang asked her directly, and she explained why she isn’t looking.
What did Kelly Clarkson say about dating?
The question came about 33 minutes into the 94-minute episode, titled “Coach Kelly.” Clarkson had been talking about raising her kids in New York when one of the hosts asked: “Are you dating?” Her answer started with one word.
No. My kids right now — I think there’s a lot behind that, but I think that would rock their boat a little bit. And honestly, this is not a [expletive] answer. I love my life right now. It just got to where I am not exhausted at every point of it.

A host said she doesn’t have “anchors.” She added the second reason: “I feel like if you’re going to be in a relationship, you have to be willing to give some of your time up. And I am unwilling.”
Why isn’t Kelly Clarkson dating right now?
By her account, it’s the kids and the schedule. A host pointed out that this is probably the first time it’s just the three of them, without “this big thing looming over it.” Clarkson said it has been “really good.”
“We’re cooking, we’re playing games,” she said. “I’m there at pickup or I’m there dropping off. It’s real different.”
The timeline behind it is public:
- 2013: Clarkson marries Brandon Blackstock, the father of River and Remington.
- 2020: she files for divorce. The marriage ends in 2022.
- November 2024: on KOST 103.5, she said her kids “constantly bring it up,” asking her not to be with anyone else, and that it was “hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”
- August 2025: Blackstock dies at 48.
- Aug. 31, 2026: The Kelly Clarkson Show ends its run.

What else did Kelly Clarkson say on the episode?
She said ending the talk show opened her calendar. Because of the show, she said, she hadn’t been able to say yes to Stagecoach or other festivals, and once it wrapped she told her agents she wanted to take them on.
She also said she is releasing music on her own label and doesn’t plan to repeat one sound. Her next single, she said, is “completely different” from anything she has put out. She told the hosts she wants to write when she wants and release when she wants.
In the closing segment, “I Don’t Think So, Honey,” she took on artificial intelligence in music. “When you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue,” she said. “I think there should be a separate chart.”

The take: both reasons she gave are about the present, and she said “right now” twice. She did not say never. What she said is that the kids’ routine and her own time are full, and that she likes it that way.
