How to Vote on ‘The Voice’ Season 30: TikTok, Text and Live Shows

• The Voice Season 30 premieres Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with a three-night opening week. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
• Fan voting returns for six weeks of live shows. You vote by text or by commenting on a pinned TikTok post, and results come out the same night.
• The coaches are Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, plus first-timers Queen Latifah and Riley Green. Carson Daly hosts.

Back to live TV. The Voice opens its 30th season on Monday night, and the change fans will notice most comes at the end of it: the live shows, and the public vote that goes with them, are back.

Season 29, which aired earlier this year, had no live shows at all. This time NBC has scheduled six weeks of them, simulcast on NBC and Peacock in every time zone for the first time.

How do you vote on ‘The Voice’?

Voting only opens during the live shows, which come after the Blind Auditions and the rounds in which coaches cut down their teams. Until then, the coaches alone decide who stays. Once the live shows begin, there are two ways to vote:

• TikTok. Find the pinned post on The Voice‘s official TikTok account listing the eligible artists. Leave one comment with one artist’s name; that comment is your vote. Your account has to be public for it to count.
• Text. Text the artist’s name to the short code announced during the broadcast. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Either way, the rule is one artist per vote. To support two artists, you leave two separate comments or send two separate texts.

The results are announced the same night. In many past seasons, the vote came in overnight and results aired the next night; now everyone performs, the vote runs in real time, and the show reveals who moves on before it signs off.

Who are the coaches on ‘The Voice’ Season 30?

Adam Levine returns as the reigning champion coach after winning Season 29. Kelly Clarkson is back too, still looking for her first win since Season 21.

The two new chairs belong to Queen Latifah, the Oscar-nominated actress and Grammy-winning rapper, and Riley Green, the country singer behind “There Was This Girl” and “Worst Way.” Carson Daly hosts, as he has since the show began in 2011.

How to watch ‘The Voice’ Season 30

• Monday, Sept. 21: two-hour premiere, 8 to 10 p.m. ET, NBC.
• Tuesday, Sept. 22: one hour, 8 to 9 p.m. ET.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23: one hour, 8 to 9 p.m. ET.
• After premiere week: Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Every episode streams the next day on Peacock. The live shows are the exception: those stream on Peacock at the same time they air on NBC.

What else is new this season?

The live shows come with theme weeks, including nights built around Dolly Parton, the Y2K era and TikTok trends. Premiere week is all Blind Auditions: four hours of chair turns as the coaches start building their teams.
