Mario Lopez’s Tequila, Casa México: Does He Own It, Prices and His Signings

Mario Lopez is signing bottles of Casa México in his hometown of San Diego on Oct. 24. What his tequila brand is, what he has to do with it, the four bottles and what they cost.

  • Mario Lopez’s tequila is Casa México, a Jalisco brand he has promoted since at least 2015 and calls himself a partner in.
  • He’ll sign bottles at two San Diego stores on Saturday, Oct. 24, for his birthday month: Old Town Tequila and Keg N Bottle in Del Cerro.
  • The line has four tequilas; online, the Silver runs about $27, the Reposado about $37 and the Añejo about $39.

Mario Lopez is going home to San Diego to sell his tequila. The Saved by the Bell star, who turned 53 on Oct. 10, will sign bottles of Casa México Tequila at two local stores on Saturday, Oct. 24, the brand announced on Oct. 21.

“There’s no better way to celebrate my birthday than back home in San Diego, raising a glass of Casa México with the people who’ve been with me from the start,” Lopez said in the announcement.

Where and when is Mario Lopez signing bottles?

Both signings are on Saturday, Oct. 24:

  • Old Town Tequila, 2304 San Diego Ave., San Diego, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Keg N Bottle, 6380 Del Cerro Blvd., San Diego, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

He signs only Casa México bottles bought in the store that day, and you must be 21 or older to buy one. Each line closes 15 minutes before the signing ends. Guests who sign up for the brand’s emails at the event get a free shot glass while supplies last.

Does Mario Lopez own Casa México tequila?

He’s a partner, which is the word both he and the brand use. Casa México says Lopez “has been part of Casa México since the beginning,” and in the brand’s telling a close friend introduced him to the tequila. He liked it enough to serve 120 bottles of it at his own wedding.

He’s been its face on camera for about a decade: he gave interviews at a Casa México launch event in 2015, and the brand’s own YouTube channel later posted a reel of his 2016 promos.

Former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya is also a partner. Day to day, the company is run by its CEO, Robert Crossan.

Lopez’s best-known moment with it came at the 2025 Golden Globes, his 16th time working that red carpet. He brought a bottle of the brand’s Cristalino and shared a shot with Kieran Culkin, who opened his acceptance speech with it: “My wife and I did a shot of tequila with Mario Lopez. Definitely feeling that.”

What kinds of Casa México tequila are there?

Casa México makes four tequilas, all from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco. The brand says they’re slow-cooked, naturally fermented, double-distilled and made without additives.

The difference between them is time in oak. Under Mexico’s tequila rules, a blanco or silver is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, a reposado rests at least two months in oak and an añejo at least a year. Cristalino isn’t an official category: it’s aged tequila filtered until it’s clear again.

  • Silver: unaged; the brand describes earthy notes, citrus and a hint of spice.
  • Reposado: at least six months in new American white oak, with ginger, oak and cinnamon notes.
  • Añejo: at least 12 months in American white oak, with caramel and oak; the brand suggests it neat.
  • Cristalino: the brand’s newest, the bottle Lopez carried at the 2025 Globes.

In October 2025 the brand added a maestra tequilera, Ana María Romero Mena, who oversees production from agave selection to aging.

How much does Mario Lopez’s tequila cost?

Prices vary by state and store. On ReserveBar, a national online liquor retailer, Casa México’s three core bottles were listed on Oct. 22 at:

The brand has also sold bottles directly on CasaMexicoTequila.com since January 2025.
