Wednesday Season 3: Cast, Aunt Ophelia and Why There’s No Release Date Yet

• Netflix has not given Wednesday Season 3 a release date, and the show was not on the list of 2026 titles Netflix published in January.
• Eva Green plays Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s “missing” sister. Winona Ryder joins as Tabitha, and Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy and James Lance have joined the cast.
• The season has been in production near Dublin since February, and a set photo puts Wednesday in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Wednesday is coming back for a third season, with Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and a new aunt in the family. What Netflix has not shared is when. Here is what the streamer has confirmed, and what it has not.

When does Wednesday Season 3 come out?

There is no date. In its own Season 3 guide, Netflix says the creators “won’t offer even a single rotting morsel” on timing, and co-creator Miles Millar joked that sharing one would mean burying the asker “in a shallow grave.”

The season was also missing from “What Next,” the list of series and films coming in 2026 that Netflix published on Jan. 7. Netflix noted at the time that the list was “not comprehensive to all titles launching in 2026,” so the absence is a signal, not an announcement.

For scale: Season 1 premiered on Nov. 23, 2022, and Season 2 arrived in two parts, on Aug. 6 and Sept. 3, 2025, a gap of more than two and a half years.

In September, the British tabloid The Sun reported that filming on Season 3 had paused for script rewrites. Netflix has not confirmed that report.

Who plays Aunt Ophelia in Wednesday Season 3?

Eva Green, the French actor and longtime Tim Burton collaborator (Dark Shadows, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children). Ophelia Frump is the sister of Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Netflix calls her “enigmatic and ‘missing.'”

Co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar called her “elegant, haunting, and beautifully unpredictable.” Millar has also promised “more Addams family members” and “more family secrets” this season.

Who is in the Wednesday Season 3 cast?

Netflix announced most of the new names in a February video, as place cards at an Addams family dinner, and added three more later. Burton said it was “great to be reunited with all of the original cast.” The new faces:

• Eva Green as Aunt Ophelia
• Winona Ryder as Tabitha. Ryder played Jenna Ortega’s mother in Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024).
• Chris Sarandon as Balthazar
• Noah Taylor as Cyrus, Oscar Morgan as Atticus and Kennedy Moyer as Daisy
• Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy and James Lance, in roles Netflix has not revealed

The same video brings back Emma Myers as Enid, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Evie Templeton as Agnes, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley and Victor Dorobantu as Thing.

Where is Wednesday Season 3 filming?

Mostly in Ireland: Netflix says production has been underway near Dublin.

But a behind-the-scenes photo Netflix released shows Wednesday, in her black coat and braids, next to a row of motorcycles with the Eiffel Tower behind her. “Mercredi in Paris?” Netflix asked, without saying more about the story.
