John Mayer at Sphere: 2027 Dates, Presale and When Tickets Go on Sale
Six April 2027 shows in Las Vegas, three sets a night and the John Mayer Trio's first concert since 2017. The ticket timeline, from the Sept. 30 packages to the Oct. 9 public sale.

- Each night has three sets: Mayer solo, with a full band and with the John Mayer Trio, back together for the first time since 2017.
John Mayer is taking his own show to Sphere. The seven-time Grammy winner announced six concerts at the Las Vegas venue for April 2027, and the first tickets go on sale this week, in the form of travel and VIP packages.
Regular tickets come later, in two presales and a public sale. Here is the order, and what each step requires.

The shows run over two weekends, three nights each, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The packages come first because they are a different product. Vibee packages bundle a concert ticket with a hotel stay and extras, and VIP packages usually pair premium seats with perks. They are the only way to buy before October.
For the artist presale, the registration is the step that matters. Fans who sign up on JohnMayer.com before Oct. 7 get access to the early sale; signing up does not guarantee a ticket, only a place in that sale. As of Sept. 28, the official site had not listed ticket prices.
What will John Mayer’s Sphere shows be like?
Every night has three parts. In the solo set, Mayer plays alone, mostly on acoustic guitar, with some songs on piano and electric guitar. Then comes a set with a full band, and one with the John Mayer Trio: Mayer with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino.
The trio has not played a concert together since 2017. Mayer has used this three-part structure before: it is the format of Where the Light Is, his 2008 concert film shot in Los Angeles, with an acoustic set, a trio set and a band set.
What is Sphere, and has John Mayer played there before?
Sphere is the ball-shaped arena east of the Las Vegas Strip, next to the Venetian. It opened in September 2023 with a U2 residency. Inside, a 16K screen wraps up and over about 17,600 seats, so the visuals surround the audience instead of sitting behind the band.
Mayer knows the room. Dead & Company, the band he has played guitar in since 2015, opened its Sphere residency in May 2024 and returned in 2025. The April dates are billed under his own name.
