‘Big Brother 28’ Finale: Date, Time, Final 3 and How the Final HOH Works

Host Julie Chen Moonves, who has presented the show since its first season in 2000, will reveal the winner on the night. There is no new episode on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
How can I watch the Big Brother 28 finale?
The finale airs on CBS and streams live on Paramount+ with the Premium plan. Subscribers on any plan, including the cheaper Essential tier, can watch it on demand starting Friday, Oct. 2, according to Paramount+.
Any Paramount+ plan also includes the live feeds, the round-the-clock cameras inside the house. The network says the house has 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones, and the feeds go dark during major events.
Who is in the Big Brother 28 final three?
Rick Devens, from Macon, Georgia, is one of three “icons” CBS added as surprise houseguests. He played Survivor twice, most recently on Survivor 50, where he won the coin flip that doubled that season’s prize.
Taylor Brown, 27, is an elementary school counselor from Deerfield Beach, Florida. She survived the block at least twice this summer, including a Sept. 17 double eviction that sent two houseguests to the jury.
Drew Campbell, 22, is a surgical dental assistant from Temecula, California, who told CBS before the season that he graduated from college summa cum laude. In the Sept. 24 episode, he won the last Power of Veto of the season.
At the final four, the Veto holder casts the only vote to evict. Drew used it to send Dee Valladares, Devens’ fellow Survivor alum, to the jury, and kept Devens in the house.

How does the final HOH work?
The last Head of Household competition is split into three parts. All three houseguests play Part 1, and the winner goes straight to Part 3. The two who lose face off in Part 2, and that winner advances.
Part 3 is played on the finale. Its winner becomes the final Head of Household and casts the only vote to evict, choosing which of the other two sits beside them in the final two.
Part 1 aired on Sunday, Sept. 27. The houseguests stood on a spinning log while holding a kite, a nod to Benjamin Franklin’s electricity experiment in the season’s “Time Trip” theme. The episode ended before a winner was shown.
Who won Parts 1 and 2 of the final HOH?
Spoilers ahead. Both parts were played in the house before the Sunday episode, and the results showed up on the live feeds: Taylor won Part 1 the night of Sept. 24, and Devens beat Drew in Part 2 the next day.
That puts Taylor and Devens in Part 3 on Thursday. Drew can still reach the final two, but only if the winner takes him. After Part 1, Taylor said on the feeds that by keeping Devens, Drew “signed his own ticket to second place,” according to the USA Today Network.

How is the Big Brother 28 winner chosen?
Once the final two are set, the jury votes for the winner. The jury is the last seven houseguests evicted: LaTrice Verrett, Angela Murray, Yash Patel, Barrett Pfeiffer, Melody Morris, Dee and whoever is evicted on finale night.
Jurors are sequestered away from the house after they leave. They see the competitions and ceremonies, but not the Diary Room interviews where houseguests explain their strategy.
Viewers pick a separate winner: America’s Favorite Houseguest, a $50,000 prize. Voting on CBS.com closes at 9 a.m. PT (noon ET) on Thursday, Oct. 1, the morning of the finale.
