Cleaning Schedule: What to Clean Daily, Weekly, Monthly and for Fall
'Clean with me' resets are all over your feed. Here is the schedule behind them: the 15 minutes a day, the weekly list, the monthly jobs and the fall reset before the holidays.

- A cleaning schedule splits the house into daily jobs (15 minutes), weekly jobs (one room or zone a day) and monthly jobs (the spots nobody sees).
- Fall adds a reset before the holidays: the fridge before Thanksgiving, the oven, the dryer vent.
- The “clean with me” videos on your feed are creators filming that reset in real time, so viewers clean along.
Somewhere on your phone right now, a mom is wiping down a kitchen island to a soft playlist, and a few thousand strangers are cleaning along with her.
The clean-with-me video is the internet’s version of a workout class: you watch someone else start, and it gets you off the couch. What the videos rarely show is the schedule behind the reset. Here it is.
What should you clean every day?
The daily list is about stopping mess from stacking up, not deep cleaning. Most routines land on the same five jobs, about 15 minutes total.
Dishes done or loaded before bed. Kitchen counters and stovetop wiped after dinner. A 10-minute tidy, putting things back where they live. One load of laundry started and finished, not left in the washer. And a quick bathroom wipe of the sink and counter.

What should you clean every week?
The trick most creators use is one zone per day instead of one marathon Saturday. Monday bathrooms, Tuesday dusting, and so on.
The weekly list: bathrooms top to bottom, including the toilet and shower. Floors vacuumed and mopped. Sheets and towels changed and washed. Dusting of surfaces, shelves and electronics. Kitchen appliance fronts and handles, plus the microwave inside. Trash and recycling out, bins wiped.
Here is how Clean My Space, one of YouTube’s best-known cleaning channels, lays out the daily, weekly and monthly split.
What should you clean every month?
The monthly jobs are the ones a weekly clean walks past.
Fridge: empty it, toss what is expired, wipe the shelves. Oven and range hood filter. Baseboards, door frames and light switches. Air vents and ceiling fans. Washing machine, with an empty hot cleaning cycle. Mattress vacuumed and rotated. Windows and mirrors inside.

What goes on a fall cleaning checklist?
Fall is the second spring clean, timed for the season when the house fills with people.
Clean the dryer vent and duct, not just the lint screen. Failure to clean dryers is the leading contributing factor in home clothes dryer fires, according to the U.S. Fire Administration, and fall and winter are peak season for them.
Deep clean the fridge and oven before Thanksgiving, not the week of. Swap bedding to heavier layers and wash the summer set before storing it. Wash windows and screens before it gets cold. Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms; the daylight saving change on Nov. 1 is the usual reminder.
