Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float: Release Date, Zero Sugar and Where It’s Sold

Dr Pepper's next permanent flavor mixes its 23 flavors with vanilla ice cream, caramel and butterscotch. It arrives in February 2027, with GHOST, Bloom and 7UP flavors right behind.

  • Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float is a new permanent flavor: Dr Pepper with vanilla ice cream, caramel and butterscotch notes, in Regular and Zero Sugar.
  • It reaches stores nationwide in February 2027, in cans and 20 oz. bottles. Fountain and frozen versions follow mid-year.
  • Keurig Dr Pepper also set dates for GHOST Energy’s Sour Strips Appleberry (January) and Bloom Energy’s Strawberry Shortie (this month).

Dr Pepper is getting a permanent ice cream float flavor. Keurig Dr Pepper announced Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float on Monday (Oct. 5), and it hits stores nationwide in February 2027, in Regular and Zero Sugar.

It leads a long list of new drinks the company revealed, from a 7UP flavored like a frozen cocktail to new GHOST and Bloom energy flavors. Here’s what’s coming, and when.

What does Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float taste like?

KDP describes it as Dr Pepper’s signature 23 flavors with “a creamy vanilla ice cream flavor and rich notes of caramel and butterscotch.” It’s the soda version of the classic float, a scoop of vanilla ice cream dropped into a glass of Dr Pepper.

The cans lean into the idea. The Regular can is Dr Pepper’s familiar maroon with a melting scoop on the front; the Zero Sugar can swaps the maroon for black and brown. Both labels say the flavor is “naturally & artificially flavored.”

When is Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float coming out?

February 2027, in cans and 20 oz. bottles, according to KDP. That’s the grocery and convenience store shelf. Fountain and frozen versions arrive in the middle of the year.

Fountain means the soda poured from a dispenser at restaurants and gas stations; frozen means the slushie machines. Both run on syrup that the store loads into its own machine, so they’re a separate rollout from the cans.

It’s also permanent. Some Dr Pepper flavors come and go as limited-time offerings, but KDP says this one is “launching nationwide as a permanent offering.”

Our 2027 pipeline brings together breakthrough energy varieties, culturally relevant flavors and meaningful investments in some of the industry’s most iconic brands.

Why announce it in October?

The announcement came a day before the NACS Show, the convenience store industry’s trade show, which runs Oct. 6 to 9 in Las Vegas. Stores decide what goes on their coolers months ahead, so new sodas are pitched to buyers long before shoppers see them.

How it fits in Dr Pepper’s flavor lineup

Ice Cream Float follows three recent Dr Pepper flavors. Strawberries & Cream arrived as a permanent flavor in 2023. Creamy Coconut was a 2024 limited edition that KDP called its most successful limited-time soda, and it came back for a limited run in April 2026.

Blackberry joined the permanent lineup in 2025, and KDP called it that year’s top new soda. Ice Cream Float is the first new permanent Dr Pepper flavor KDP has announced since Blackberry.

What else is Keurig Dr Pepper launching in 2027?

GHOST Energy: 7UP and A&W stay, Appleberry in January

GHOST‘s collabs with 7UP and A&W were limited editions in 2026. In 2027, both become permanent, KDP said, after strong sales. KDP also says GHOST is now a $1 billion brand at retail.

Two new GHOST flavors are coming. Sour Strips Appleberry, a sweet-and-sour mix of green apple and strawberry, launches nationwide in January. Blueberry Cream, blueberry with vanilla in a yogurt-inspired flavor, follows as a limited edition; KDP didn’t give a month.

Bloom Energy: Strawberry Shortie this month

Bloom Energy has three new flavors based on childhood treats. Strawberry Shortie, strawberry and vanilla cream inspired by an ice cream truck treat, is available starting in October 2026. Cotton Candy and Lemon Freezie, a frozen lemonade flavor, arrive in January 2027.

7UP, Canada Dry, Sunkist and C4

  • 7UP Miami Vice: lime-lemon, strawberry daiquiri and piña colada flavors, after the frozen cocktail. A limited edition, nationwide in June 2027.
  • 7UP Shirley Temple: the cherry and pomegranate flavor returns for the holidays, now also in a 20 oz. bottle in 2027.
  • Canada Dry Raspberry Lemonade: a seasonal flavor starting in spring 2027.
  • Sunkist: new graphics and a recipe with a more fruit-forward orange taste, in the first quarter of 2027.
  • C4 Energy Cocoa Loco: the newest flavor in C4’s zero-sugar Cereal’s Most Wanted line, in 16-ounce cans in January 2027, plus 8.4-ounce minis of three flavors already in that line.

Like Dr Pepper Ice Cream Float, the 7UP and Canada Dry flavors come in Regular and Zero Sugar, according to KDP. 7UP also just changed its own recipe, to a more lime-forward formula with a new logo.
